Mark Silinsky is the president of Kensington Security Consulting
Mark Silinsky is a retired forty-year veteran analyst of the Defense Intelligence Community, who served as an adjunct professor at the United States Army War College and Haifa University. Graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Southern California, Dr. Silinsky received an M. Phil. in international relations from Oxford University, under the supervision of Sir Michael Howard; and took a Ph.D. in international development from Tulane University. His dissertation measured the impact of economic development on national confidence and stability in Afghanistan. He also graduated from the Naval War College and the National Defense University.

Dr. Silinsky has served in many intelligence disciplines, including military capabilities, counterintelligence, indications and warning analysis, terrorism, and predictive intelligence. As an action officer on the Joint Staff, J5, he worked on homeland security and counterterrorism. In his early career, he was an Africa analyst and worked at several embassies there. Later, he became a civilian Army Foreign Intelligence Officer (FAO), Eurasia, Russian language. In 2008, he researched the counterinsurgency in Afghanistan, as a participant in the Director of National Intelligence’s Exceptional Analyst Program. His is the author of four books on international relations.
